Parent & Me Play Group
Age: 12M – 3Y
Duration: 30-45 Minutes depending on the setting
No Mandarin background is required
Our Parent & Me play group is a approximately 45-minute Mandarin Chinese immersion class for children 12 months to 3 years old. Children will learn Mandarin through music, body movements, instruments, puppets, and stories. They will learn both language and culture by exploring traditional children’s songs and nursery rhymes in Mandarin Chinese. Curriculum is designed to provide young learners both language and culture exposure as a joyful entry to future Mandarin study. Different fun topics such as seasons, family, numbers, and animals are explored each semester.
A caretaker is required to stay with the child at all times inside the classroom.
Junior Native Shoots (Bo Po Mo)
Age: 4Y – 6Y
Duration: 30 sessions/school year ; 1 hour 45 Minutes
Prerequisite: Native Mandarin speakers - Must have a strong background in Mandarin or 5 hours+ a week of Mandarin support outside of class. An assessment will be conducted to determine level of proficiency.
Junior Native Shoots is designed for 4 to 6 years old native Mandarin Chinese speakers. The students must be able to participate and converse in Mandarin fluently. Curriculum is theme-based, which includes introduction to the Zhu-Yin (Bo Po Mo) phonetic system, basic structure of Chinese characters, and discussion of storybooks. Mandarin support outside of classroom can be from Mandarin-speaking parents, grandparents, nannies, or private tutors etc.
